Holy cow you guys, it's 2012. Doesn't that make you think about how old you are? You are so much older than you ever thought you would be, right? You know, people complain about getting older, but aside from the fact that it brings you closer to death, it's not really that bad! Think of all the great things that never would have happened to you had you not aged! Think about it right now. Now write down the things you thought of. Now go downstairs into your neighbors apartment. Knock on the door. No one is home. Use a knife from your kitchen to carve away the wood around the lock on the door until the inner workings of the lock are exposed, then simply pry them apart and enter the apartment. Leave the lights out, you won't need them. Take the list that you made and place it gently on the kitchen table. Look in the fridge. Take out the milk and pour it over the list on the table. Put the milk back in the fridge. Now leave the apartment, pushing the door shut behind you. Go back upstairs. Sit down and read this list of things we're looking forward to in 2012.
TEN THINGS WE'RE WAY TOO EXCITED ABOUT FOR 2012 (fingers crossed they happen):
10. THE MANHATTAN PROJECTS by Jonathan Hickman and Nick Pitarra (Image) What other weird crap were the scientists that created the nuclear bomb getting into that we never knew about? Find out here!
9. UMBRELLA ACADEMY Vol 3 by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba (Dark Horse) I don't have any real tangible news on this, but it was always supposed to have a 3rd run, and no time like the present to round it out to home!
8. HELLBOY IN HELL by Mike Mignola (Dark Horse) Did you see that? Just Mignola. He's coming back to write AND draw the next big chapter in Hellboy's life. Can't wait! But I'll have to, likely 'til summer.
7. SHAOLIN COWBOY by Geof Darrow (Dark Horse) It's been teased in Dark Horse Presents! Best case scenario: the prior work gets collected (FINALLY), and we get a new ongoing series of miniseries set-up. I'd love to have this on hand day in and day out.
6. MIRACLEMAN reprints by Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman and more (Marvel) Okay, enough's enough. Give us what we want, Marvel.
5. PROPHET by Brandon Graham and Simon Roy (Image) Dusting off a semi-forgotten character and injecting the concept with forward-thinking energy! Like Alan Moore did with Swamp Thing. The future of comics begins here! I hope.
4. BATTLING BOY by Paul Pope (First Second) Pope's 600+ page all-ages action epic is taking painfully long to finish, but here's hoping we'll see it sometime soon.
3. MULTIVERSITY by Grant Morrison and the best artists in comics (DC) The word on the street is this should see daylight by the end of the summer. Who better than Grant Morrison to help us navigate through the DC multiverse in the wake of the relaunch? They probably have to get Earth 2 books up and running in Wave 2 first.
2. FURRY WATER by Rafael Grampa (Dark Horse) Now years in the making, Grampa's follow-up to MESMO DELIVERY is high on everyone's most wanted list.
1. SAGA by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples (Image) New epic sci-fi series from one of the most beloved, consistent writers of the modern era? Check. Finally a chance for one of the breakout great artists of the last few years to get the credit she deserves? Check.
GO HERE: http://www.velocitycomics.com/content/january-2012-sign-sheet-march-2012... to check out the newest sign-up sheet! make sure you sign up for new books from Richard Corben and Brian K Vaughan! Make sure you don't miss out on the X-Men Vs. Avengers Mxi-series! Other things! Go look at all these other things!
NEW POLICY ON BACKSTOCK! From now until the end of time, all backstock issues will be priced HALF OFF. Occasional deep discount sales may occur as well, but that's the new status quo. Of course, status quo is always subject to change based on sales. Like, if people aren't buying enough half-price backstock we might have Wolverine show up and fight it. OR MAYBE WE'LL JUST GO AHEAD AND REBOOT IT! IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT! IS THAT WHAT IT TAKES TO GET YOUR ATTENTION?
