A hearty, humble thank you to everyone who made it out for Free Comic Book Day yesterday, thus ensuring the best FCBD of all time. For anyone who didn’t make it in, start masking your blemishes now, because the next big exciting FCBD is only a scant year away. That being said, if you can put your pride in a box long enough, we still have some FREE COMICS left over and if you catch us within the next few days we might let you have some. MAYBE.

A WINNER! I am proud to announce that the long national nightmare known as our DRAW! KIRBY contest has finally ended. The count was tighter than Obama and Clinton in a dune-buggy, but at the end of the day there could only be: JOHN OWNBY, who squeezed out a victory by one vote. As the winner of this round, Ownby will have his awesome OMAC sent to the Velocity Comics Archive and Historical Research Facility in Winnipeg, and will also receive a small tiara studded with little OMAC’s.

HAVE YOU SEEN IRON MAN? It’s the question on the rubbery lips of fans from the highest corridors of Congress to the lowliest corridors Hell. The answer? Well… let’s just say, stay through the credits: there’s a scene where Tony has to give a bear a bath OR THE WORLD WILL DIE!

ACTION COMICS ANNUAL #11-Continuing the story begun at the dawn of time, where Bizarro’s ran rampant and ZOD reigned supreme!

AVENGERS INVADERS #1- The Greatest heroes from the Greatest generation time travel to the present, where they’ll teach us all an important lesson about the true meaning of heroism and values and how things were so much better when Alex Ross was like 12. But seriously folks, no one is doing more to perpetuate the delusions of the elderly than Alex Ross, and for that I declare him the proud winner of a HARD CANDY HELMET, inscribed with the Velocity Comics logo and some speech that Eisenhower made about how the Japanese will never steal our precious rocking chair technology.

EXTERMINATORS TP VOL 04- Call John Leguizamo and see if he’s ok, because these boys leave no HOUSE OF BUGGIN’ unmolested.

JLA PRESENTS AZTEK THE ULTIMATE MAN TP- Super highly anticipated collection by GRANT MORRISON and MARK MILLAR, completed just as their stars were rising!

LIFE SUCKS GN- Vampire shenanigans.

RANN THANAGAR HOLY WAR #1- Jim Starlin, space war. Two great tastes that’ll blow the roof of your mouth straight through the skylight.

SECRET INVASION #2- Sources say that this issue reveals none other than Happy Days star TOM BOSLEY to be the KING OF THE SKRULLS.

THREE SHADOWS GN – Better than one, but in my experience two is optimal. I’m willing to be convinced, though.
