Let's Fix DC!

Hey gang,

Seems the buzz around the shop is that DC is doing more wrong than right these days. They have burned through all the good will they generated from 52 with the D.O.A. Countdown series. So I'm asking everyone for their ideas on what DC should do to pull out of the nosedive. Here's one to get us started:

1.) Merge all the spinoff Countdown books (Search for Ray Palmer, Countdown to Adventure, etc.) into the main book. Countdown was touted as the spine of the DCU but it reads like a VERY brief recap of events that happen in other books. I'm sure that at least some of the spinoff issues already slated for publication can replace an upcoming issue of countdown with little or no tweaks. And no one will miss another issue chock-full of Jimmy Olsen's "hysterical" power fluctuations as Mr. Action or the Anti-Montor's 800th repetition of this discussion:

Bad Anti-Monitor: "We must kill the anomalies that threaten to destroy the integrity of the 52 by crossing over!"

Good Anti-Monitor: "No, my brother, killing. is. wrong."

Here's a terrific Newsarama blog on a similar theme:

What if DC simply sold a monthly digest of what's going on? They could retail it for $1.25, and it would likely result in higher turnover of 1+ week old surplus copies.

Why would it prompt a higher turnover? Are you saying people would want to pick up a copy of a book after having already read it's highlights in the digest?

That is exactly what I'm saying. The digest would function as a teaser.
