DRAW: Please note that the theme for our next DRAW contest has been announced. That theme: WHAT IS THE RUNNING MAN RUNNING FROM? The Running Man, of course, is our mascot, best known from that enormous painting on the wall of the store. SO! Imagine what he's so worked up about and create some kind of image that reflects those imaginings. Use a pencil, use a pen, use a computer, charcoal, or blood. Just do it, bring it by the store, and stand to win $100 in STORE CREDIT.

Hey Velocipals! I'm happy to lead off with a big, hearty CONGRATULATIONS to IAN and MANDY who got married yesterday. The happy couple actually met here at Velocity Comics many years ago, so you can imagine the incredible debt they owe us. We've already arranged to cash in on that debt: they've pledged to name their firstborn child Velocity Sampson. So look forward to that.

FIRST things first I'd like to wish TOM BATTEN a Happy Birthday today! And the lucky dog gets the bestest birthday prezzie anyone could ever ask for, the series finale of LOST! All other birthdays are now pretty insecure. Hope it's a great one, pal!

A big thanks to everyone that participated in our latest DRAW CONTEST. Judging was tough this time around--bickering and in-fighting ruled the day. People locked themselves in the restroom, people showed up at other people's apartments crying in the middle of the night; It all culminated in Pat biting off Tim's index finger and wandering down Broad st with blood streaking his beard and the mangled digit dangling from his lip like a cigarette.
